Forties music plays as Abby, Connor, Sarah and Danny longue around a cabin. Connor and Abby are dancing; the girls are in evening dresses and the boys in suits.

Sarah interrupts the dance to read from a journal. Whoever wrote it was the last of a group of people who had all been killed. The others gather around to listen.
"There's no one left. The others are all dead. God help me, it's happening again. They're here."
The record scratches and Connor goes to turn it off. In the silence they hear Creatures calling from outside. Danny sends the girls out the back and he and Connor go to look around. They're attacked by giant ostrich looking things.
Credits! Becker's made it to main cast status.

8 hours earlier.
Danny descends on a zip line and does some techy stuff to turn off a laser grid. Looking around, he climbs down ladders and runs through corridors, until Becker steps out of an alcove.
"Bang."
They're playing war games to improve security. They seem to be working together better than before.
Becker seems very RP for some reason, and I'm not sure why. Hmm.
Christine's watching. She's all smug because they don't know she's watching. For some reason, every camera she looks at is either camera 7 or camera 11, and sometimes it changes between shots. Later on she gets a camera 12 for variety.

Connor and Lester drive to the ARC.

Lester doesn't much like the flatmate situation. Especially not when he finds Sid or Nancy eating his paperwork in the boot.
"I'm senior management, you're...whatever it is you are."

"We're flatmates, why can't he see us?"
"We are NOT flatmates!"
Abby and Jack are practising kick boxing in the flat. She's winning. She warns Jack off hurting Rex, telling him that he's priceless. She heads for work and he calls someone to tell them they're on.
Christine watches more footage from the ARC, picking up the Artefact.

X Ray hasn't told Connor anything about the Artefact. He turns on a light to see it better and Sarah has a breakthrough, which she doesn't explain.
"You are a genius!"

"I know – what've I done?"
She comes back a moment later with a laser which she points at one end of the Artefact. Nothing happens until they turn it a few times – and Connor shakes the rack – and it creates a hologram display.

It fades before they can do anything, but they've seen enough to know it's an Anomaly map. Unfortunately, they can't get it back.
Also unfortunately, Christine has seen it.
Danny and Becker are debriefing with Lester.

"Excellent. A new definition of serious. You let him abseil down a ventilation shaft!"
Danny mentions the camera on the ventilation shaft, which rings alarm bells as there's not supposed to be a camera there. Becker and Danny immediately start searching Lester's office without actually telling him why.

Danny finds a camera

and goes to warn Connor, giving him five minutes to get the Artefact ready to travel. The others hurry to pack what they need while Danny locks the base down.
Becker stops them before they can leave to tell them Christine's already there.

Danny takes the team out the way he broke in while Becker goes to delay Christine.
"We really don't want to kill you, sir."
She has orders to take over the ARC, but Danny bursts through the roadblock and gets out.

How did Christine get a letter, on official paper, while hurrying to the ARC? Does she have a fax machine in her car with Ministerial paper? Also, I have this vision of the letter from Hot Shots Part Deux: 'You're out. She's in.'
Unable to get in touch with the Minister, Lester is ousted.
"You know, this isn't over, Christine."

"When people say that, James, it usually is."
Danny and the others are being chased on a motorway. Danny plays chicken with an oncoming lorry to get them clear.
Lester watches his staff being filed out of the building. He overhears a soldier report to Christine that the others got away, and refuses to help her. He walks very calmly out through the Hub.

He nods at a staffer on the way, who sends a text to Connor with the safe house co ordinates.

Becker reports to Christine in the Hub. She sets him on the trail of the Artefact.
"I am your Commanding Officer now. I assume there is no conflict of loyalties?"

"None at all."
But we're not fooled, because he's in the credits now.
Jack's got some mates to play poker. He's losing.

Danny and the others pull up to a long abandoned building complete with its own mine field. It's fairly rustic.

Danny kicks in the door to get them in. Inside it's gloomy and dirty, but they have good views around.

Connor picks up a loaf of bread, which literally falls apart in his hands. Danny finds some really good wine.

"There's no power. It's gonna be like Christmas at me gran's – please, god, nobody mention Charades."
Connor heads out to get some firewood and promptly falls down a slope.

He's found a sort of bunker, complete with generator. He walks through some spider webs – urgh.
Outside Danny and Abby set tripwires to warn them if anyone comes.
"They're going to find us, aren't they."

"It's just a matter of time – but we're not going to give up without a fight, are we?"
"No."
Sarah's exploring inside the cabin. She's found some very old cans. Also some fabulous dresses.
Connor gets the generator going. It also kicks off a record player, which is played all around through speakers. Connor plays with the system until the generator turns off again.
He looks so completely disappointed.
Trying to get it going, he opens a door and a body falls on him.

The others arrive in time to pull it off him. Danny finds a ledger and passes it to Sarah to decode. The generator kicks back in.
Jack loses badly and, out of money, bets Rex.
This is where we came in; suits, dancing, journal. The dresses fit the girls remarkably well.
An Anomaly pops up in the generator bunker.

Christine picks up the Anomaly and sends her men after it.
Connor resets the record but they hear a screech over it. The tripwire goes off and Danny and Connor go to look. Sarah and Abby head for the bunker but, seeing the Anomaly – which Abby helpfully identifies - they change their minds and head for the car instead.
Danny, looking around, is surprised by the big ostrich thing. Connor makes a sort of catapult and throws very expensive wine at it to distract it. They all pelt towards the car; the girls and Connor get in and Danny jumps on the back. The Creature chases them. It smashes in Connor's window and he loses control of the car for a moment,

catching himself before Danny can get knocked out. Another one, or maybe the same one, attacks from behind and Danny fends it off with – possibly a tire iron?
He's better at the CGI this week.
Connor brakes for a moment to catch the Creature off guard, then accelerates to get away. The Creature gets in front and Connor has to turn sharply, knocking Danny over the side of the bed and leaving him hanging on by one foot.

The Creature tries to get him but he fends it off and pulls himself back in. Connor looks back to cheer and is blindsided by a fallen tree, which smashes through the windshield and out the back window.

Danny climbs around the car and checks on the girls; they're shaken but all right. Connor's unconscious and not responding, though. Danny sends Abby with Sarah back to the cabin, over her protests, and starts laying traps.
ARC soldiers – Christine's – pull up to the cabin and start looking around. Only two? She has a high opinion of her men, doesn't she?

Connor wakes up with a terrible headache and finds himself, as far as he can tell, alone.

Danny's above him, making a tripwire to catch the Creature. Connor's the bait.
Abby and Sarah rip their dresses to make them easier to run in.

Connor acts baity.
"Are you sure this is gonna work?"

"How would it fail?"

"Only in about a hundred different ways."
Danny orders him back in the car when the Creature screams from nearby; it smashes in another window to try and get to him, just a few inches from the wire loop.

Danny catches it, jumps down and runs for it, Connor on his heels. The Creature tries to follow but is tripped up by its new tether.

The girls are still running when they hear more screeching. They leave the trees for a field of – something – where they think they're safe, right up until they stand up. A herd, or possibly flock, of the Creatures are nearby.

The boys are running through the trees when they come to one edge of the minefield.

Danny's for running straight through. The girls reach the field and hop, skip and jump through the field to catch up.
"How was your hopscotch at school?"
"You know what, pretty good, actually."
There's a Creature behind them; Danny deliberately steps on a mine and sends the others on ahead, waiting until the Creature's right on top of him to leap to one side. The Creature is destroyed in the explosion, while Danny's fairly ok.

He catches up to the others just as they run into the soldiers, one of whom has the Artefact. Connor and Danny try to talk him into running, but of course he won't listen and a Creature gets him.

The second soldier drives off, almost running over Connor. Abby dives him out of the way, but he's recovered the Artefact.

The Jeep hits a mine and explodes, and parts of it decapitate the Creature. Danny and the others flee back to the cabin, quickly securing it as best they can.
At the ARC Christine's lost contact with her team and sends Becker, after loudly discussing her opinions on the Minister first.

"The Minister is an imbecile who can barely blow his own nose. Do you really think I'm going to let a Whitehall glove puppet with the IQ of a root vegetable tell me how to do my job?"
The cool bit is if you watch, you can see Becker put a hand in his pocket and take it back out again...
The Creatures bust in one of the windows, breaking in and forcing the girls into the next room. Connor blinds it with a torch and Danny brings down some of the top floor on it, retreating to join the girls. There's a lot of horror movie quick cuts and banging and yelling and false silences and it's all pretty confused, but it ends up with Danny gone out a skylight, Connor gone after him, and the girls stuck inside.
Danny's trying to get to the bunker with the record of the Creature screaming, but the Creatures have copped on and he's trapped between the buildings.

Connor distracts them by running around and yelling, so they all chase him instead and he vanishes into a group of Creatures.

"I'm so much more tastier than him!"

Apparently, Connor loses all knowledge of English grammar when under stress.
Danny, after some despair, takes the distraction and runs for the bunker. He puts on the record, but the generator won't start up.
Abby's stuck on the roof and Sarah's trapped inside, until Connor pokes up through a trapdoor. She quickly joins him under the house, but none of the three have anywhere left to go.

Until the record starts up. The Creatures abandon them to go chase it to the bunker, where they flee back through the Anomaly.

Sarah, Connor and Abby regroup and go to look for Danny. The bunker's trashed and they find his braces on the desk.

But he only lets us think he's dead for a couple of seconds before appearing from behind a door with a witty quip.

"Anyone got a belt? These trousers are a nightmare."
Just as they're celebrating, though, Becker turns up with a group of soldiers.

He gets some abuse from the others, but they fall in line.
"You're Johnson's man now?"

"I'm just following orders."

"Like a good little soldier boy."

Back at the ARC Christine is gloating over the Artefact, for about four seconds until Lester walks in.

Christine tells Becker to throw him out, but he refuses, because Lester's back in command! Seems that Becker recorded all those nasty things Christine said...
That is a very clear recording, considering the recorder must have been in his pocket at the time...
"That reminds me, the Minister wants to see you. He did seem a little upset...oh, Christine. I did tell you it wasn't over."
The team find this hilarious.

Becker gets a kiss from Sarah and an apology from Danny. Lester throws them all out to get back to work; Connor reclaims the Artefact. Lester watches as Christine is escorted back out through the Hub, to applause from the others.

Abby lets herself into the flat to find Jack messing on the foosball table. Rex is nowhere to be seen, and Jack looks very worried behind her back. Not enough to fess up, mind, but still...
